Thinking strategicallyholding broad and long term perspectivesis an implicit value of Western management Yet its conceptualization may vary across cultures. Interviews with 52 executives in the U.S., South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan, suggested three dimensions which appear to vary across countries. Environmental, economic and political factors, cultural traditions, history, and a society's philosophical assumptions appear to undergird its approach to strategic thinking.
