Evaluating and Using Psychological Testing Software

G. Groth-Marnat

The methods used to evaluate the quality and appropriate usefulness of psychological tests are discussed with particular reference to the assets and limitations of computerized assessment. An introduction to methods of evaluating and using tests is provided by considering essential questions to address before purchasing/ using a test, additional resources to consult, the use of psychological tests for specific purposes, and assets and limitations of computer software. The implications for business managers are that, before considering the use of computerized psychological testing they should clearly have the knowledge to evaluate them and understand appropriate approaches towards interpreting the results.
