Organisation Development: Europe and Australia - Some Comparisons

John W. Hunt, BA, Dip Ed Syd

Macquarie University MBA Programme

There are some major differences between working in Europe and working in Australia as a consul tant in organization change. These differences relate more to theoretical positions and willingness to be open than to the use of specific techniques . In fact, there has rarely before in the behavioural sciences been such a universal adoption of like techniques. The same methods , exercises, interventions are used whether one is looking at the consultant in Britain, Europe, Asia or Australia . This in itself suggests some superficiality in that cross-cultural differences are assumed unimportant.
