Decision Perception Analysis

J.C. Kable

Decision Perception Analysis (DPA) is a technique now being discussed more and more in industry and government as managers seek ways of increasing productivity.

The objectives of DPA are:

(a) to measure the decision making preferences of people; and,

(b) to measure the decision making requirements ofjobs.

With these variables known, people can then more effectively be matched to jobs, so leading to a higher level ofjob satisfactionfor the individual and higher productivity for the organisation. The title of the technique, Decision Percep tion Analysis, was chosen to convey its intention — to analyse an individual's perception of the correct decision and then to utilise that information to fit the individual into a preferredjob.
